“By implementing the Country Carbon Footprint program in China, Bayer highlighted its dedication and commitment to providing the most advanced technology to enable China to combat climate change,” said Michael Koenig, President of Bayer Greater China. “We are proud that this commitment has now been recognized by Business Watch Magazine.”

The evaluation and selection of companies was conducted by a panel comprising entrepreneurs, investors, senior consultants, and government officials. The companies selected among the top 50 represent a broad range across several industries. This year’s selection criteria for Best Green Production Companies included five major indicators covering innovation and investment in green production; energy efficiency during production and the use of green raw materials; the impact of production on the ecological system; product recycle rate; and the sustainable profitability of green production. The Bayer Integrated Site Shanghai demonstrated its competitive edge in all five areas with its state-of-the-art facilities, technologies and management.
